LG Australia has appointed Deok Hyeon Moon as the company’s new Managing Director and will lead the Australian and New Zealand subsidiary.

Moon has been with LG for 26 years and most recently led the LG Russia subsidiary as President for two years.

Prior to this he was in Panama for two years running the operation of Panama and the Central America area managing business in 24 countries.

His key achievements during his time with LG include significantly growing market share of major categories in Russia.

Moon was responsible for taking the TV category from number three to two position, the AV category from number two to one and the Digital Signage business from number three to number one during his tenure in Russia from 2009 to 2011.

Moon replaces departing Managing Director, William Cho, who has taken on a more senior position in Korea.

“LG Australia and New Zealand is one of our subsidiaries that is really growing in terms of market share and I look forward to further strengthening this to take us to number one,” Moon said.

“The local marketing team has also implemented innovative social media and experiential campaigns in the last twelve months which are considered leading edge in LG Business and I look forward to taking these to the next level in 2012.”
