Global appliance manufacturer, Whirlpool has introduced Sonia Lancaster to its marketing team as the senior brand Manager for refrigeration, based at the company’s head office in Scoresby, Melbourne.

Lancaster will be responsible for the development and implementation of the category strategy across all refrigeration products, including product launches, managing ATL and BTL communications and executing internal and external training programs.

Sonia brings seven years of experience in brand and marketing management to the company, recently working in Hong Kong as global marketing manager for the Mistral Group.

“Sonia has joined Whirlpool with a wealth of relevant experience both here and overseas,” Whirlpool general manager of marketing, David Graham said.

“Since the launch of ‘Guess Whose Mum’s Got a Whirlpool?’ in 2008, Whirlpool has gone from strength to strength and we see Sonia as the last piece of the puzzle in helping us continue this trend,” he added.

Preceding her five years with the Mistral Group, Lancaster worked across brand and product management for Independent Distillers, Sensis and Goodyear tyres.

“I am thrilled to be joining such a dynamic team with exciting prospects on the horizon, and I look forward to using my skill set to help sustain Whirlpool’s growth,” Lancaster said.
